Bosanac co-signed a question to the European Commission
FIFA claims high prices are dictated by the "market," but economists warn of the obvious – the entire system is rigged to extract massive profits. An algorithm without any limits creates astronomical prices, with some tickets reaching up to $30,000.
We've reached a situation where only the ultra-rich can watch live matches, while everyone else is expected to take out loans to support their national team. This completely destroys the spirit of sport. Sport should be accessible to everyone, not just to some.
That's why we reacted immediately in the European Parliament. I co-signed an official question to the European Commission to prevent such situations from occurring in the EU. If we don't stop this "dynamic pricing" model now, it will become our everyday reality. In the US, large retail chains are already testing digital labels to use algorithms to change food and grocery prices in stores several times a day, depending on crowd levels or time of day. An algorithm must not determine how much we pay for bread, milk, or fuel!

What are we asking of the Commission?
Strict protection for citizens from unpredictable price hike. An urgent investigation into platforms that use monopolies to exploit citizens. A limitation or complete ban on dynamic pricing for all major sports and cultural events.
