Bosanac in Utrecht: Cities are the frontline in the fight for a fair, green, social, and self-sufficient Europe!

Cities are the frontline in the fight for a fair, green, social, and self-sufficient Europe, and it's our job to ensure they have the appropriate budget to achieve this! 

Today in Utrecht, I participated in the Eurocities conference, which brought together numerous mayors and representatives from European cities. I presented the current state of negotiations regarding the future of the EU budget and the funding of European cities. I was pleased to share the European Parliament's perspective with the mayors of Utrecht, Zagreb, Helsinki, and other European metropolises.

As shadow rapporteur for National and Regional Partnership Plans (NRPP) and a member of the Committee on Regional Development, I advocate for the new European budget to fully incorporate and strengthen the urban and regional dimension. I particularly champion additional direct access for cities to EU funds, without central government interference.   

Without strong, green, and socially just cities, there can be no successful democratic Europe!
