Zagorka connects

Yesterday, in the European Parliament, I came across a group of great young journalists involved in the project “Zagorka connects” - a mentoring network with experienced colleagues who are also winners of the Marija Jurić Zagorka Award.

I made myself available to them for a quick fireside chat and I have to say their questions were great! It's great to see how the knowledge of journalism is passed on generationally as it must be  independently, critically and factually accurate.

This project is extremely important today, at a time when we are flooded with a sea of information, fake news spreads like a virus democracies are increasingly difficult to recover from. Journalism must preserve its role as one of the main pillars of democracy.
