Stricter controls on the breeding and sale of dogs and cats are being introduced, especially online.
All Member States must finally make it mandatory to chip and register dogs and cats. And there are no more exceptions to this — every grower and caretaker must take responsibility. Advertise the animal online will be possible only after confirming that it is registered with the advertiser.
Identification and registration are essential because they associate an animal with its owner or owner. The technology and GDPR-compliant databases already exist in all Member States so now there really is no excuse anymore.
And my cat Djuro called Neapolitan can now take an even more peaceful nap because he knows that his friends across the EU are better protected. 😽
