It's hard to find words in the face of a genocide.
A glimmer of hope is awakened by the Global Sumud Flotilla, the largest civilian mission that set off from Barcelona to break the illegal siege of Gaza by sea and open a humanitarian corridor. At this time, the most important thing is to stop hunger, provide medical and humanitarian assistance and put an end to genocide!
When institutions and governments don't give answers, people find a way. Civil society, politicians, academics, doctors, artists are mobilized... all who do not want to turn their heads in the face of suffering. And this Sunday Flotilla is joined by my colleague from the Greens/EFA Group, Benedetta Scuderi, whom I deeply admire for her courage and perseverance - both as a politician, and as an activist, and as a human being 💚❤️
This week in the European Parliament we also had the honour of hosting the former Prime Minister of Palestine, dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, who stressed how important the international media in Gaza are, those who convey the truth from the ground that Netanyahu's government is trying to violently silence. He called for the European Parliament to stand clearly and unequivocally on the right side of history.
