When I proposed in the European Parliament the idea of bringing the EU closer to young people through quizzes, I never dreamed how great the turnout would be. Varaždin, Karlovac, Pula and Rijekathey hosted I KNOW IT! pub quiz, where the teams tested their knowledge of Europe, and the competition passed with lots of laughs, challenges and some surprises.
More than 50 teams competed on issues such as: How many MEPs are in the European Parliament? or Who won the Eurovision Song Contest the year Baby Lasagna was born? And the prizes were very valuable: A trip to Brussels and a visit to the European Parliamentfor the best teams!
The atmosphere was fantastic — with welcome drinks, snacks and good old school quiz vibes, interest in European themes proved to be high. After the quiz, the participants were able to ask me everything they were interested in — from the laws we pass in the EP to how my cat survived the flight from Zagreb to Brussels.
The best teams are now preparing for a journey into the heart of the EU, where they will see first-hand how the European Parliament works and how together we make the decisions that shape our daily lives.
