Retirement should not mean exclusion from social life.

Pensioners, especially in Croatia, are systematically neglected. Culture is often financially inaccessible to them. The digitalisation of society (healthcare, banks and public services) further excludes them and makes them vulnerable to fraud and poor services.
And that is why today I discussed the legal and practical possibilities of introducing EU CARDS FOR PENSIONERS within the Committee on Petitions in the EP with independent experts and representatives of the EU institutions.
The card would provide discounts for museums and cultural institutions in Croatia and throughout the EU, easier access to education aimed at developing digital skills, and recognition of the status of pensioners throughout the European Union.
It makes it clear that Europe must take care of all generations, not just the market and productivity. And it is especially important for Croatia, where pensioners are among the most vulnerable groups in all of Europe.
This is only the first step, but I continue in this term I continue to fight for policies that would improve the quality of daily life of our elderly.
